Inaugurated a new edition of +Industry

This morning has taken place the opening ceremony of +Industry, an event that brings to a close a strategic month for the reactivation of the Bilbao Exhibition Centres’s calendar of events, in which industrial gatherings have been the highlight.

The official opening ceremony has been led by Ainara Basurko, Provincial Councillor for Economic Promotion. In the words of the Provincial Councillor, “both Bizkaia Provincial Council and the Basque Government have strengthened the tools to give a further boost to innovation in advanced services and industrial SMEs in Bizkaia as a lever for their growth and increasing their competitiveness. We are incorporating specific work lines in a collaborative and complementary way to accelerate the digital or green transition processes in order to attract specific talent in these fields, and even to accelerate the technological transfer processes from knowledge centres towards companies. Aware of the importance and urgency of supporting each company that sets out to innovate, we are also committed to major projects that drive our strategic sectors: such as the EIC in the field of energy and research to develop new models of clean and sustainable energy; the AIC (Automotive Intelligence Centre) as a space for collaborative R&D&I between companies in the field of mobility, or the Advanced Aeronautical Manufacturing Centre”, explained Ainara Basurko in her speech.

“In short, as suggested in this year’s “claim” of +Industry , the “industrial meeting of the year”, BEC is hosting an event for interaction, to exchange knowledge and delve into business opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to smart industry”, she has concluded.

From today until thursday it includes the following trade shows in exhibition halls 1 and 3: Addit3D, BeDigital, Industry Tools by Ferroforma, Maintenance, Pumps&Valves and Subcontratación, as well as the WORKinn employment forum.

Over 600 exhibiting companies are taking part, showcasing the most innovative products and manufacturing and supply services for the industry. Visitors from sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, capital goods, metal works, energy & utilities, railway, engineering, machine-tool, naval, petrochemical, iron & steel, transport & infrastructure, as well as distribution channels such as industrial supply warehouses, hardware cooperatives and purchasing groups, among others, are attending the event.

+Industry aims to strengthen its profile as a space for business and knowledge transfer thanks to an extensive programme of activities that includes live demonstrations, Innovation Workshops, networking meetings and B2B meetings. The talks will be the highlight of the congress space, covering issues related to Industry 4.0 solutions. Some of the talks are being held in-person and online at the same time, in order to make the most of this activity. +Industry also offers all visitors a new app where they will find all the information on the event and they can even exchange virtual business cards with other attendees.

During the talks, more than 60 representatives of leading companies in the sector will share their knowledge and experience from success stories in their respective fields.

In this sense, it is worth highlighting the participation of AFM Cluster, a regular collaborator of BEC through several of its associations, which attends + Industry with 80 associated companies that are distributed among the different events that are going to be held together. 22 of these companies make up a grouped participation in a space where the 6th Meeting of advanced and digital manufacturing AFM Cluster will be held.

During the event, Bilbao Exhibition Centre puts in place a strict safety protocol, which has been awarded the “Safe Tourism Certified” quality mark by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE), certifying that the exhibition centre is a safe space.

+Industry is supported by SPRI-Basque Government as an institutional partner.
